I personally believe that one of the best ways to exemplify leadership, and to show love to others is by offering your time, money, or other resources when there is a need. It has been said that “people do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” Throughout my life, this has been reinforced to me time and time again. I have also learned and grown more through giving of my time than I ever thought possible. I love serving people and volunteering in order to help charities, fundraisers, and organizations further their goals and move successfully toward outcomes that make a difference!
I have received so much; service is how I try to give back.

Service and Leadership
As a young girl sitting on the bathroom counter listening to James Dobson, I began to learn what it means to serve others through leadership. Since then, I have taken those basic principles I learned listening to the radio and expanded them into deeper reasons that serve larger goals.
I am proud to serve through volunteerism in leadership roles both l large and small. For the past 20 years I have served a minimum of 800 volunteer service hours per year.
In 2017, I was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Community Service Award.
Inspire and Educate
I have a passion for Education! My background in education has offered diverse opportunities which have allowed me to serve both in formal positions, and as a volunteer.
I love the “Light Bulb” moments that come when understanding bursts upon a student in an area in which he or she has struggled—and you just know that their life has been forever changed by the new perspective and knowledge that understanding brings. I live for these moments!
I love to inspire and educate other toward becoming something they never though possible.

I have always had a heart for literacy, and for helping others learn to read. In recent years, I wrote a series of children’s books strategically designed to help children learn to read. Each book in the series can serve as a stand-alone tool or as a supplement within a broader curriculum, and includes special activities that enhance vocabulary and deeper critical-thinking skills.
I donate my books to schools and libraries as a way of making literacy tools more accessible throughout communities. They can also be found on Amazon, and in over 39,000 other online bookstores.
I have many friends and family who have served, or are currently serving, in one of the branches of the armed forces. I love history, and have great respect for those who have given their lives to serve and defend.
I volunteer with various military fundraisers, events, and projects as a way of giving back and actively participating in a bigger mission to defend and uphold the freedoms I enjoy every single day.
It is truly my honor to serve our military in any way that I can.
